On the home front or the battlefield, the mission of security is the same. Met One Instruments manufactures products well suited for both.
Met One’s TACMET II Weather Sensor was developed for the Military to provide ambient surface weather data in the most adverse conditions. The TACMET II is used by all branches of the US military in addition to several international armed forces. Applications include nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) detection systems, tactical air traffic control (ATC) and unmanned air vehicle (UAV) launching and landing systems, artillery trajectory fire control systems, and aerostat operational control safety systems.
Both Homeland Security and the Military share common concerns regarding potentially dangerous airborne materials. Met One Instruments has been tasked with development of new products to assist in the detection of airborne particulate threats. These products have been widely used for Military Force Protection and air monitoring in public places.
Monitors range from rapid deployment Mass Monitors to fixed location Particle Profilers. Particle Profilers are often used to determine possible presence of bio-aerosols. Rapid deployment particulate monitoring systems may use wireless communications, while fixed location monitors often use wired facility software.
