The air quality of our communities is severely compromised during emergency response events such as forest fires, structural fires, or industrial accidents. These incidents lead to the release of massive amounts of particulate matter into the air. When the particulate matter is inhaled, even in small quantities, it can be hazardous to the health of nearby residents and wildlife. Emergency responders arriving on the scene are in the greatest danger of exposure. 

 

Due to the unplanned nature of emergency response events, it is problematic to set up air quality monitoring equipment in time to assess health threats to the surrounding community accurately. For this reason, Met One Instruments Inc. offers a range of particulate monitors and meteorological devices for localized dispersion modeling. 

➡️ Our equipment is compact, user-friendly, & rapidly deployable:

  • The E-BAM is the only portable beta gauge available that operates on battery or solar power.
  • If EPA-designated measurements are required, then the BAM 1022, with US EPA PM2.5 certification or the E-BAM PLUS, with US EPA PM10 certification, can be quickly deployed.
  • Met One also offers products that will provide weather data to help track material released into the air during an emergency. For example, ask about the ‘plume tracking’ option, available on selected products.
