Essentially, air quality is a considerable concern to everyone. Air quality impacts the health, comfort, wellbeing, and productivity of occupants in any space. Even outside. Industrial hygienists, toxicologists, chemists, engineers, physicians, and other Environmental Health & Safety professionals dedicate their careers to ensure people in a space are kept safe and healthy. Providing a safe air space for people to breathe healthy air is a significant component of the bigger picture in any setting.



Most Americans spend up to 90% of their time indoors, and many spend most of their working hours in an office environment. Some studies indicate that indoor environments can sometimes have higher levels of pollutants than levels found outside. Consequently, the air quality of the workplace and public domain plays a significant role in our lives and directly impacts our health.



Pollutants in both indoor and outdoor environments can increase the risk of illness. Several studies have consistently ranked indoor air pollution as a significant environmental health problem. While most buildings do not have severe indoor air quality problems, even well-run facilities can sometimes experience poor indoor air quality episodes. 



Outdoor air pollution caused by factory emissions, automobile exhaust, woodburning stoves, wildfires, slash burning, and other sources of harmful airborne particulate affects everyone in the surrounding area. This means the need for air quality monitoring is everywhere.



In response to this need, Met One Instruments, Inc. has developed various handheld particle counters and aerosol mass monitors well-suited for public and workplace indoor air monitoring, including but not limited to the ALL-NEW Aerocet 532 and the Aerocet 831. The Aerocet 532 is our newest full-featured handheld particle monitor, offering internal data storage, simultaneous measurements of 8 PM channels in real-time, a large, full-color LCD display for easy readings, and a convenient docking station for rapid charging and WiFi connectivity.



We offer a variety of outdoor particulate matter measurement monitors for public and workplace monitoring as well. These include the highly versatile ES-642 Remote Dust Monitor, the ES-405 Simultaneous Particulate Profiler, the BC 1060 Carbon Monitor, and the all-new ES-412 Portable Simultaneous Particulate Profiler. The NPM 3 Neighborhood Particulate Monitor is particularly well-suited to neighborhood scale monitoring projects.
